Old Friends

I am about a month behind on blogging and determined to get caught up this weekend. We had a special visit at the end of April. My friend Anne was in town from Seattle and we went to see her, Rebecca, and my horse Diamond. I had not seen any of them for a long, long time. Diamond looked wonderful for such an old man. Keaton was very interested in the horses and definitely wasn't scared. Unfortunately, she was more interested in walking Diamond then riding him. We may have to work on that this summer. . .

Sesame Street Live

We left the house on an adventure in a torrential downpour that soaked my phone (which explains the lack of pictures). Keaton had no idea what we were going to do. We had only told her there would be a show.

We had fantastic seats with no one sitting in front of us. We were so close that the characters were coming down from the stage and saying hi to kids at the end of our aisle. Luckily, we were in the middle of our row because Keaton didn't want to get too close.

She was enthralled with the show and had a great time.

Mecklenburg

There is nothing better to do on a beautiful Friday then dance on Mecklenburg's garden. If only the Urbas family was here to join us. . .

Easter Conversation

In my effort to get a holiday conversation this year, I caught Keaton on candid camera close to Easter. She loves to make up songs these days. She had no idea I was filming.

Spring Break

We ventured off to Florida for spring break this year. I have struggled with writing this post because there are many memories that won't be captured but at some point we have to move on.

We did an awesome boat tour with an overly tired and cranky toddler. The highlight by far was when we stopped for the first time at a manatee sighting. Water came over the front of the boat and leaked along the floor. As we were all looking for manatees, Keaton loudly insisted that the girl in the seats next to us had peed. I laughed so hard I cried.

Here we are on the same boat tour watching the drawbridge go up.

I have been to Sarasota a million times and never knew that there were small uninhabited island parks throughout the bay. This one was a treasure.

After Sarasota, we headed to Orlando for a few days. We went to Leu Gardens one morning. Keaton was convinced it was a zoo and couldn't understand why there weren't more animals there. The following is a pic of Scott and baby Joseph who is definitely more baby than newborn these days.

The highlight of the trip for Keaton was this blowup pool. She absolutely loves it and made Uncle Scott and Larry's effort to blow it up worth while.

She also lived the doggies.

On our final morning there was an Easter party at the church across the street from Scott and Jeff's. As Larry packed the car, Keaton savored the last moments of vacation.

As we drive home we promised the Easter bunny had visited the house. She was happy to find her basket.

Beach Time

I am slowly getting back o our routine after vacation. I'm trying to get everything posted to the blog. This picture doesn't look like much, but it is one of my favorite from our trip. Keaton and Larry are sitting on the right. Scott and Jeff are one the left catching a picture of Joseph. As I took the picture, I thought that all of us finally had everything we could ask for. It was definitely a different vacation with two kids in tow but it also felt like all our hard work had paid off.
