Happy Birthday

Two years ago tonight we brought home the most amazing person we have ever met home. Those first few days were precious but life with a toddler is always fun. It is amazing the changes that happen in two years.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend filled with fun family outings.  We started off the weekend attending the Hamilton Oktoberfest.  It was by far the best Oktoberfest we have ever attended.  Keaton loved playing in the dirt and watching the German dancers.

Sunday we were invited to a bounce house party.  Keaton has been obsessed with jumping lately so this was particularly well timed. She had a blast playing with her friend Adeline and the dog at the party.  Unfortunately, we didn't realize that we didn't have the memory card in the camera.  So, we only had a few pictures snapped on our phones.  Here is Ms. Keaton with her ice cream.

Here she is looking entirely to old on the way home watching Sesame Street.  I know she is turning 2 this week, but she looks way to grown up in this picture for my liking.

The dramatic change in weather brought about a wonderful trip to the zoo on Monday morning with Uncle Scott.  The three of us had a great time.

Here she is on the big rhino for the first time. She thought it was great.  I love how happy they both look in this picture.

23 Months

It is so hard to believe that Keaton will soon be two in some ways.  In other ways, our days are filled with so many new things that I am looking forward to life with a two year old.  The picture below is of her with her first library card!

Here she is watching the coy pond at the zoo with her first pony tail!

At 23 months, Keaton is:
  • talking in sentences and bossing us around.
  • loves to rough house.
  • becoming more independent in everything.
  • obsessed with trying to dress herself.
  • putting simple puzzles together.
  • singing ABCs.
  • singing simple songs.
  • terrorizing the cats.
  • can tell you how old she is.

Random Summer Pictures

I found this learning tower at King Arthur Court Toys this summer. We bought it as an early birthday present, and you can tell Keaton is already enjoying it.  Keaton has always been interested in what is going on up on counters and she was constantly at my legs saying up.  This thing has been a life saver!  She can now safely stand at counter height and see what is going on.  Here she is doing dishes.  This has quickly became one of her favorite things to do.

We took a trip to Totter's Otterville earlier in the summer and I love these shots.  Here she is holding hands with Josie as they head to the indoor playground.

Keaton has proven herself to be pretty fearless this summer. Here she is in her first ball pit.

We found a wonderful park fairly close to our house this summer.  There are two huge sandboxes that she loves playing in.

Summer is quickly wrapping up here.  I go back to work on Friday and we are trying to get Keaton ready for that.  She loves being with Amy but is definitely not happy about me returning to work.  The next week or so will be rough but hopefully we will all get settled in.

Last of Summer

We took a trip to Kings Usland today. It was a great day! Keaton is in love with her cousin Maddie and I got to spend an hour floating in the lazy river with Keaton asleep in my arms.

This is after Maddies first ride on White Water Canyon. We got off the ride with me in front. Keaton faked me out and ran past me to Maddie

On the train on the way to the car.

Shopping

We ran to a different Kroger's than normal tonight to get a few things. As we walked in Keaton realized they had toddler sized carts. Her face lit up instantly and I couldn't tell her no. It was probably one of the most difficult trips to the grocery we have ever taken but she had a blast. Several shoppers started to give an annoyed glance but quickly warmed up when Keaton explained to them she was shopping.
