18 Month Update

The large majority of this week has been spent with Keaton showing us her boo-boo or asking us to kiss it again and again. I am sure that it is just the first of many to come.  18 months seems so old to me and I am not sure why.  I think it is because we are closer to 2 then 1 after this.

Keaton had her 18 month appointment this week.  She is 26 pounds and 32 inches tall.  She was less than pleased about the doctor appointment.  The nurse came out to call her name and she immediately began screaming.  Our pediatricians nurse is a very quiet, sweet woman but she also has given Keaton a lot of shots and evidently she remembered.  She was hysterical for most of the appointment.  We finally calmed her down and as we were leaving the nurse said goodbye.  Keaton didn't even have to see her to be sent back into a fit of tears.

At 18 months Keaton can:
  • climb up onto furniture.
  • fling food for several yards
  • play by herself.  She will now go into the living room and play without anyone near her.
  • say a ton of new words.  The most recent has been home, people, bite, bonk, boom, boo boo and grandma.
  • pour liquids from one container to another reasonably well.
