The Teething Chronicles

At Keaton's four month appointment, the doctor said he wouldn't be surprised if she had teeth before her 6 month appointment. I assumed we still had a while and put it in the back of my mind. That was Monday the 11th. On Friday the 15th, she chomped down on my hand and there were teeth involved. It took about five days for them to fully break through her gums and they, yes there are two, are slowly working their way out. The first few days she was definitely uncomfortable and irritable. Now that they are through her gums, she has been running a low grade fever and has a runny nose constantly. She seems to be more uncomfortable around nap times and at night. I have tried the chilled teething rings and frozen wash cloths. She doesn't seem to understand what any of it is for. The one thing that has consistently worked is Sophie. She loves to get Sophie's butt in to her mouth and give it a good chew. In the midst of all of this, I have been trying to get a shot of her two little teeth to put up on the blog. After what seems like a million pictures, I finally captured them in the two shots below.

  1. Oh that Sophie works miracles! We had a lot of success with the homeopathic teething drops & tablets. Got them at Whole Foods, but they have them on Amazon too. Boiron makes them just search "Camilia Teething" or "Bioron Teething". Hugs! BTW - she's gorgeous! ;)
